What We Do

We buy oil and gas mineral and royalty interests.

Here is a plain-language look at what we purchase, why some owners choose to sell, and how the process works.

The basics

Two kinds of interests, one simple approach

Mineral rights

Owning what lies below

Mineral rights are ownership of the oil and gas beneath a tract of land. They can be separated from the surface, passed down, and divided into fractional shares over time. Mineral owners can lease to an operator in exchange for a bonus and a royalty.

Royalty interests

A share of production

A royalty is the portion of production revenue paid to an owner under a lease. Royalty income rises and falls with production and prices, and it usually arrives as monthly checks or deposits with statements to track.

What we look for

Interests of almost any size

You do not need a large holding to talk with us. We regularly look at small and fractional interests.

  • Producing and non-producing mineral rights
  • Royalty interests, including those paying today
  • Interests that are already leased
  • Open, unleased acreage
  • Small and fractional shares of a tract
  • Interests held by individuals, families, or trusts
Why owners sell

Every owner’s reasons are different

Whether selling is right for you is your decision. We are happy to answer questions either way.

Some owners prefer to keep their minerals. Others decide that selling makes more sense for them. Common reasons include:

  • Turning a variable, uncertain income stream into a single sum
  • Simplifying finances and reducing paperwork, statements, and tax forms
  • Dividing value cleanly among family members
  • Funding other priorities today
Our process

How it works

Clear steps, no pressure, and you can stop at any point.

01

Reach out

Send us a short note through the contact form or at info@aepwv.com. A few details about your interest are all we need to start.

02

We review your interest

We research the title, the lease, and any production history so we understand exactly what you own.

03

You receive a written offer

If it is a fit, we send a clear offer in writing that you can review with family or an advisor.

04

Close with no pressure

If you decide to sell, we prepare the paperwork and walk you through closing. If not, there is no obligation.

Questions

Frequently asked

Don’t see your question? Email info@aepwv.com.

Do I have to accept your offer?

No. An offer from us is simply an offer. You are free to decline it, ask questions, or take time to think it over.

Does it cost anything to ask for a review?

No. Sending us information about your interest does not cost anything and does not commit you to sell.

What information should I send?

Whatever you have on hand is a good start: the state and county where the minerals are located, the operator’s name, or a recent royalty statement. Please do not send Social Security numbers or bank details by email or through our form.

Can I have an attorney or advisor review the offer?

Yes, and we encourage it. Our offers are in writing so you can share them with anyone you trust.
